The Hunter Family, have been pillars of the local community for nearly half a century. Establishing their business back in 1975, this dedicated family have consistently demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the mid-Michigan region, particularly the city of Mount Pleasant, and have been passionate supporters of CMU.  But their philanthropic efforts extend well beyond the university, as the family actively supports a diverse array of charities and community initiatives throughout the area. The spirit of giving back and being involved is at the family’s core. In 2007, the Hunters expanded their entrepreneurial ventures by opening the beloved Hunter's Ale House and Handmade Brewery, a cherished local institution that has become a hub of community life. Offering a menu of casual, homemade food and hand-tossed thin crust pizzas, the restaurant has become a gathering place for residents and visitors alike. And in 2014, the Hunters took their passion for crafting ale to the next level by adding a nano-brewery to their establishment, further solidifying their status as purveyors of exceptional local flavor. Throughout it all, the Hunters have maintained an unwavering dedication to their staff and the community they serve, fostering a warm atmosphere where everyone is part of the family.
